INDIGO, Festival of Contemporary Ideas
Taking place between 6 and 8 September 2017, this year's festival will be exploring the TRUTH and LIES.
While keeping track of daily happenings, we are subject to media constructs that keep exploring the perception of what is real. Competing to be the first to catch us in the loop of attention in the name of profit at any price, a multitude of news items are creating a spiritual poverty that no longer permits us to perceive the space and time we live in thoroughly and properly. With some exceptions, art remains one of the last retreats where we can focus on the perspective and consideration of where we are being led by the merciless lowering of the level of communication and integrity caused by the omnipresent hucksterism and posturing. By means of discussions, lectures, concerts, exhibitions, performances and workshops, the Indigo festival will seek to expose the contemporary shifting and deletion of boundaries between the lie and truth.
Using the principles of collaboration, accessibility and transitivity, the festival integrates cultural and scientific institutions with nongovernmental organisations and creative individuals. This year Indigo will be held in the city quarter composed of the following streets and squares: Križevniška ulica, Trg francoske revolucije, Gosposka ulica, Novi trg, Gregorčičeva ulica and Vegova ulica, which is also a district that contains major Slovenian cultural institutions, such as Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, Mini teater, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ljubljana Festival, Glej Theatre, National and University Library, Secondary School of Design and Photography...
